Where do my book ideas come from?

Hello! Here is my first blog! Yikes...kind of scary actually! Here goes!
Ever wonder where a person's book ideas come from?
They can come from anywhere, any place, any time, from anyone, anything, and there's no plan for it. When inspiration hits it does just that. At least for me, it does! It slams into me like a meteor racing from the sky! It always has for as long as I can remember.
Many times during the week or a month I hear myself saying "Oh that's a good idea for a children's book, I gotta write that down!". Sometimes a title comes to me first and I write it down instead.
Ideas mostly arrive in my head when I am out hiking. I try to hike daily and for the majority of the time my dog accompanies me. She inspires ideas as well!
Lots of thoughts and processing ideas come to me while the boots are on the trails. It's part of who I am and how it works for me. Being in nature is healing, therapeutic, and just plain good for the soul.
Most of my stories will be nature or outdoor-based. That is for good reason as they always tell you to write what you know. Well for as long as I can remember the outdoors has been a huge part of my life and I can't imagine nature not being part of my daily life.
As my ideas arrive in my head I get them out as quick as I can and get them on paper.
Sometimes that means taking notes digitally with my cell phone as it's quick and easy to access. I will later transfer the idea to a notebook where I keep all the ideas together.
Then I just go from there! Take off time! When inspiration hits I write what I can and when I can. It's very exciting to be making a dream come true that I have had since I was a child. Thank you for coming along for the journey as my stories come to life!
