I have an Illustrator!!!

I am so happy & excited that I have chosen an illustrator/book designer to illustrate my first children's picture book!! This started as an intimidating and daunting process. Being my first rodeo you tend to second guess every decision. When it came right down to it the illustrator I chose actually chose me first!

I went with my instincts and they told me to take the leap of faith, so I did! She has my manuscript in hand as of last week and character illustrations have begun.

I received the first round of character illustrations yesterday and the illustrator suggested a phone call to get a more personal sense of my goal for the book as well as feedback on the characters.

I am over the moon excited! I love, love, love my main character! It's a young boy named Charlie and you will all meet him very soon! He is the cutest little guy!! I danced with excitement in my office this afternoon after talking with my illustrator. She is so open and willing to listen to my vision for my book yet at the same time has artistic license to show the book in her creative vision. I cannot thank her enough for her talent and openness to listen to this children's picture book newbie!! Thank you Hira!! You are wonderful!
