Meet Charlie...and the Storyboard progress!

Hello everyone!

Just a quick update on the progress of the illustrations for my new book.

The Storyboards are almost complete!! It won't be long now and there will be updates to share.

What is a storyboard, you ask?

A storyboard is a visual plan that maps out the structure and content of the story.

It's the picture plan for the picture book.

Storyboards work on the visual layout of the story, working on the overall visual plan of the book, key scenes, character development, narrative flow and illustration planning.

Storyboards look different for everyone. Each illustrator and author have their own styles, ideas, and hopes for the outcome of the book.

Clear communication is a key component to creating a functional storyboard that will become the guide to creating illustrations for the success of your picture book story. Keep the vision for your book at the forefront and communicate that effectively to your illustrator to make for a smooth process.

What a journey this first book has been! It's almost time for the colored and detailed illustrations to start, and I couldn't be happier with the process so far! The excitement is building, and I will share more pics soon! In the meantime, please meet Charlie!
